Say hello to Brandon Ghent, who has been at NurturEd Early Learning Center for about a year. Mr. Brandon says one of the most rewarding aspects of his job is seeing children finally understand something or achieve something for the first time.
“It’s so rewarding,” he said.
Mr. Brandon, of Woonsocket, is from Connecticut originally. He said Woonsocket sometimes has an unfair reputation, and he loves it there, including the convenience of everything being nearby and the affordability of his two-bedroom home.
He’s a Therapeutic Integration Specialist in the EnhancEd Support Services program, providing individualized support to help children thrive in their classroom environment. The EnhancEd program provides an inclusive environment where children can learn, socialize, and play alongside their peers, with support from trained professionals who help meet each child’s individual needs.
The support system at NurturEd is second to none, said Mr. Brandon, who works at the Cumberland location. Administrator Tiffany Tinkham and the entire staff provide such a great support system, said Mr. Brandon, who connected to the job through the dance studio where Tinkham’s son Damien attended.
Children are always asking questions based on what they’re into at the time, said Mr. Brandon. One was obsessed with coffee for the longest time, another couldn’t get enough of hockey, still another loved dinosaurs, and they’re always asking questions that make him have to Google the answer.
When he’s not at NurturEd, Mr. Brandon teaches dance and color guard to advanced levels, and he’s always trying to stay active.
