We’re introducing you to many of our staff members, because, well, we love them and they deserve it. You also deserve to know the people who take care of and teach your children. So without further ado…
Ms. Hailey wears many hats at NurturEd Early Learning Center
For Hailey L’Heureux, a Cumberland native who still lives here, working at NurturEd Early Learning Center at Chapel Four Corners is about wearing all the hats to make sure every staff member has what they need and the operation runs smoothly.
Ms. Hailey, who has been here for the past eight years, said she at one time wanted to own her own home daycare, but after she graduated, she got the opportunity to be Assistant Administrator and Education Coordinator here, and she jumped at it.

While she does some of everything, said Ms. Hailey, that’s also true of everyone who works in this type of business, as they do what needs to be done to serve children and families.
In her daily work, she supports teachers with curriculum, assessments, data collection, getting them materials, and executing projects, among other tasks, and teachers also support her.
The job is hands-on and about thinking on your feet, said Ms. Hailey, and she always tries to put herself in the shoes of the teachers. They often have different strengths and styles, she said, for instance, some like experiments and some not so much.
“It’s about gravitating to their style as well and not just giving my ideas,” she said.
Asked about some of the more funny experiences of her career, Ms. Hailey laughs as she shares about how she had misconceptions about the job before she started. She said she imagined herself rolling around a little art cart to different classrooms and using it daily to help teachers implement something from the curriculum, which isn’t what it was at all.
When she’s not at work, Ms. Hailey says she loves painting, including making personalized banners for graduations, Fourth of July, or any other type of celebration. She takes a brown roll of paper and makes her creations freehand for people to purchase, and can be found @heyhaileyRI on Instagram.
She loves getting together with family, having done that all growing up on Sundays and Wednesdays and always doing dinner at grandma’s.
“It was always like, you can bring whoever with you, but you’re attending,” she said of those family gatherings.
In addition to hanging out with friends and family, she also loves traveling, including to Italy, Portugal, Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
On the recent name change and rebrand for NurturEd, Ms. Hailey said she’ll always have a fond affinity for Dr. Day Care, but the new name makes sense as it encompasses what they’re all about and what they’re aiming for in serving families.
Every day at NurturEd brings so many funny moments with the children in their care, said Ms. Hailey.
